1. Article: Keeping Your Focus
One of the keys to online success is being able to keep
your focus. Easier said than done right? You surf for traffic and see a
constant stream of programs promising to make you rich. You read your
emails and again, you see all the latest and greatest programs the “best
program out there”. It is very easy to get distracted. I find myself
getting distracted from time to time as well.
How do you stay on track? How do you keep your focus
on your business and work to build it? For myself at AMH Marketing, I stay
focused by following a to-do list every day. I have four things that I do
every day to help keep my business running smoothly:
Check email: Like all Internet marketers we
get tons of email. Make sure you have a good email program that lets you
filter your incoming messages into folders. Set up folder for your business
contacts, your affiliate programs and of course your Safelist emails. By
separating your email you will be able to quickly reply to messages that
need your attention and then later sort thru your email that may not need
your reply but may have valuable information for your business.
Surf for traffic: If you belong to traffic
exchanges make sure you take time to surf for your traffic. I belong to
over 60 exchanges I try to surf 6 to 8 exchanges every day. Set a goal for
surfing. Surf each exchange until you get 50 credits or 100 credits every
day. If you belong to several programs, set up a surf schedule. For
example, surf exchanges A, B and C on Monday, then surf exchanges D, E and F
on Tuesday…and so forth. This gives you a constant stream of traffic to
your site and allows you to use a variety of exchanges to promote your
site.
Promote your programs: If you belong to
safelists, FFA pages or lead generating programs, send out your advertising
for your programs. Depending on your programs, you may have some that you
can send mail daily or every other day or monthly. Whatever the case may
be, organize them in your favorite’s folders. This will save you time so
you don’t have to search for the program that you can use daily or the ones
that only allow you to send every 48 hours.
Manage your programs: I have six main programs
that I am actively promoting and participating in.
MPAM
AffiliateShowcase
ISORegister
ISO ProfitCenter
TrafficJam
C.A.N.
By focusing on only a handful of programs you can
better understand the programs and in turn offer help to your referrals. I
look at my programs everyday. If available I read the members forums,
verify my settings and use the program to help build my business. It is
very easy to copy and paste a banner or email for an affiliate program, but
if you don’t use the program yourself, how can you recommend it to others?
By becoming involved in the programs you not only help to build a better
program, you can help others you bring into the program by telling them
about your own personal experience with the program.
I hope you find these tips useful. Remember, if you
stay focused, you will in the long run build a solid online business. If
you have any tips or suggesting for keeping your focus, I would love to hear
them and possibly share them in upcoming issues.

3. Marketing Tips: Safelists
Safelists are groups of people that have signed up and
agreed to receive your email in return for you receiving theirs. I find
that the paid safelists are more responsive than the free safelists.
Remember when sending to safelists you want to make sure you use subjects
that will get your message open. DO use subject that mislead your reader
such as “You just got paid” or “Account Deleted”. These are unethical
practices and should be avoided.
I have set up several Safelist campaigns that I rotate
on a weekly basis. I also change the message subject every other day. This
helps to keep your messages fresh and increases your chances of getting your
message opened. Below are a few safelists that I have found to be very
responsive.
Business World
Cash-Blaster
Ad Tactics
